Jim went to the bank yesterday and they changed our account # on the account that the temporary checks were drawn on.

That's all we can do.

So, I am choosing to stop expending negative energy about this, and I'm just going to have to rely on the rule of three for comfort.

Besides, I have better places to put my energy. Like the fact that it's less than ten days til I board a plane for New York and ultimately the UK.

I had a great time with my family, but right now I'm so mad i'm practically in tears. When Jim and I got home we lugged my stuff in to the apartment, and aparently the little panda bag we got at the National zoo, that I use as a wallet,  fell out of my purse. a little while ago we had the doorbell ring and the manager brought back the bag. First thing I did was look in it and every thing appears to be there. Except of course, the cash.

Took out 200.00 dollars just before the show at the pantages.  Spent 12.00 on three bottles of water. no that is NOT a typo. Gave 65.00 to friend as my share of the cost of the hotel. Chipped in 10.00 so my neice and nephew could get the souveniers they wanted to get. Spent 15.00 on a set of three souvenir bracelets.

200.00 minus 102.00. I must have had a little in my purse already because when I counted this am I had 100.00.

we went to the pool this morning and I bought my sister and neice and nephew and myself all a snack and a drink which ran twenty dollars. a little less but my sister kept the change with the intention of paying me back ten, which she had asked to borrow for a drink and a snack for her and kaelie. I had already just given my nephew the five bucks for his. Sister never paid me back, but I dont care about that.

1.25 for the red line to union station. 5.50 for the san bernardino line from union station to upland. I cought a candy bar and a godiva mocha at the union station snack stand. Dont really remember what that cost but lets assume not more than five dollars.  SO I just got ripped off approximately 70.00.

Three possibilities. A random person came along and found it, grabbing the money before leaving it on the ground to be subsequently found by the tenant in the upper left corner of our building who took it to the manager who brought it to  us.

Tenant mentioned before took the money before turning it in to the manager.

or the manager took the money before bringing it to us.

There was no reason for the tenant who found it to take it to the manager.  My driver's license was in it and the address is current. simply open it up, get the address and bring it to me. I'd have been grateful. I dont know that I would have thought of offering them a reward as I would not expect one myself in the same situation.  The purse was open when the manager brought it, but that could have been because he checked for the address.

We went outside just to check on the off chance the monety had fallen out into the car, but its not there. Its not in my purse. The upstairs neighbors kid was out on the landing and asked about the bag, and we told him the manager had brought it to us. I mentioned the money was gone, but at least i had my drivers liscence and cards, etc...
He suggested that the money was in his mothers pocket and asked if I wanted it, I said of course if she had it I wanted it. The little boy went inside while I looked at Jim with incredulity, asking him if the boy was seriously going inside and accusing his mother of stealing. The boy of course did not come back out, and we went inside after a few  moments.  We did go back outside and the door, which they always keep open, is now closed.

It could have been any of those three choices. My money is on the neighbor. (literally)

I went downtown via a bus and and from there the redline to hollywood. I got home via the red line to Union station and the san bernardino line to upland. Through the public transit system, downtown la,  and hollywood I managed to not lose anything, not get robbed, and I get home and get ripped off by a neighbor. Not that I can prove it.

Now. Before, I said everything appears to be in there. The driver's licenses, the 2 ATM cards, the One major credit card,  2 gift cards to glen Ivy. My annual passes to SeaWorld that we got on our anniversarry trip. Insurance cards, club cards.

Thing is,  I have three temporary checks which also came back. Except I don't know that that's ALL the temporary checks I had in there. I don't know that it's not all of them either. The bank gives them to us in groups of five. It's entirely likely I used two before we got our permanent checks. I just dont KNOW. This is worrying me. I'd like to say, well,  they just took the money and that's it. but it's OBVIOUS i cant trust them. At this point, the bank is closed and wont open until monday morning. Jim will call them first thing monday and see what can be done.
