Officially back at my lowest pre-thanks-giving weight, which I hit the day before Turkey day.
From today on it's about progress again, not maintaining thru the holidays (I considered 229 acceptable, tho I was a bit over that for a couple of days), or getting back on track.
3 lbs to the next major goal. 3 more after that to a HUGE goal

Thanksgiving was not too bad, despite over-eating in one huge instance.

It was christmas that was bad, diet-wise. A lot of eating over time for two weeks pretty much had me in the mid thirties by New Years.

One week into the New Year and I am back down to 229 which is -42 from where I started trying and -76 from the worst weight I know I hit at one time. ALso this can be counted as having lost 15% of my body weight from the time I started trying.

This is not *quite* the lowest I got to (maybe five lbs lower) and still 11 lbs higher than I was hoping to get to by the end of the year.

So, from 229 the next goal is 226, which will put me @ -45 (-79).
And Since we are going with itty bitty goals, the next one after that is only one more pound down at 225. Basically Goals are 5's and 0's in actually weight and the same in pounds lost, so that with my starting weight of 271 6's and 1's are also goals and gives me the motivation of being able to claim two little goals very quickly. Also, 9's wind up being goals because, in example, being 229, I am now under 230. I know this is a bit of a mind game, but acheiving little goals like this means I feel successful more often and like an utter failure way less often. This is a good thing.

229 -42 (-76) 15%
226 -45 (-79)
225 -46 (-80)
221 -50 (-84)
12/31/2009 220 -51 (-85)
<220 219 -52 (-86)
218 -53 (-87)

229 This morning! Which is -42 lbs from my start point (or -76 from my worst weight).
229 also means I have lost 15% of my starting weight.
I was less yesterday, by 2 lbs, but I hadn't eaten very well on Saturday, and we had an AWESOME dinner with Jim's family last night, so I expected the uptick this morning.

The goal chart for the next while looks like this:

230 -41 (-75)
<230 229 -42 (-76) 15%
226 -45 (-79)
225 -46 (-80)
221 -50 (-84)

<220 219 -52 (-86)
218 -53 (-87) 10%x2
216 -55 (-89) 20%

Yes, I set myself teeny tiny little goals, but it's working for me!

I hate plateaus. I seem to hit them every ten pounds. Is that normal?
So, maintaining at -35 pounds for now. Let's hope this one doesn't last for a month like the others have. This is why the weight loss is so slow going. ::sigh::

Yes, I gained 3 pounds last weekend, but holy crap, I lost 7 pounds this week!
235.4

Next goal is 231 which is -40 pounds from my start, and -74 from my worst weight.

239 this morning! Which means I have more than recovered from our weekend splurge. In only three days.
239 =under 240 (I'm so good at math aren't I?)
Next goal 236.
236=-35 pounds

Milestones

Ok, seriously, why do I keep hitting weightloss milestones the day I KNOW I'm going to blow it.

Today I weighed in at under 240 for the first time. It wouldn't count if I was rounding up to the nearest pound, but I'm not, and it does (so there!).

Next goal will be 366 which will be -35 pounds from my starting point in March(or -69 from my worst weight ever).

Thing is, I AM going to blow it tonight. And tomorrow. And Sunday.

Tonight we are taking advantage of Restaurant Week in O.C.
http://www.orangecountyrestaurantweek.com/Home_Page.html
and a gift certificate to The Summit House. This is the place where we got married, for those of you who remember it.
http://www.orangecountyrestaurantweek.com/Summit_House.html Prime Rib or Filet will be my most likely choices. Mmmmm. I figure on only eating half and bringing the other half home in a doggy bag. But still, that's going to push me right back over 240.

And then Saturday evening and Sunday we will be at the taste of Newport.

SHould be fun! But again, not good for the diet. ::sigh::

But technically, today is my lowest weight yet, so yay!

243 this morning. I knew it was going to go back up when the girly issues slowed down, tho, so not freaking out about it at this point. There are parties(yes, more than one) this weekend, and I have no willpower when it comes to party food. Will try tho. Also, both of these parties involve water, so maybe If I swim and play around enough, it will mitigate the damage?

Can I just say, I HATE thinking about what I eat this much?
We went out to eat Thursday night. 2 for $20 at Chili's. The ONLY thing on that menu under 1000 calories was the half rack of baby back ribs. 490 calories. Add the seasonal veggies and your at 550 calories. The meal also comes with an appetizer and dessert, so of course I blew the diet right out of the water for the day. The appetizer wasn't that great, and I guess I should have just skipped it, but the dessert was faboo and SO worth it. Little shooters of Key Lime Pie and Red Velvet Cake.

Was very good, and I guess I EARNED those 2 lbs that have come back, huh?

I post semi regular weight updates here on LJ, but I don't bore you with most of them, keeping them under a private filter. I'm making this one public because I had mentioned the expected gain in the last public one, and consider this a bit of a follow up.

Normally I wait a few days before I post a milestone publicly, because, well, for a few different reasons.I don't trust myself. I'm not good at saying no, and I find it way to easy to justify straying from healthy food, or having an extra treat. So I don't trust that hitting that milestone means that I will remain at or below that weight. And honestly, there are reasons I expect that this may go back up a bit, that are NOT under my control at all. (Read: girly issues).

I've been bouncing between 245 and 250 since Father's day, but as long as I kept it under 250, managed to keep from getting too discouraged. So, when,I returned form my weekend trip to Ventura the weekend before last, I had gained back more weight than I was comfortable with. To be exact, when I weighed myself after arriving home, I was 255. I set the goal of getting back under 250 by the end of the week. And by Saturday I had just barely attained that, weighing in at 249.8.

Then spent most of the weekend curled up around a pillow and not eating as much as I should have (read again: girly issues). Maybe that unintentional fasting kickstarted my metabolism, or something? I KNOW fasting is NOT a great idea, don't worry. I won't be making it a habit, I promise.

My weight @ this morning's weigh-in was 241.2.

Anyways, 241.2 actually skips one milestone, entirely.

244 = a weight loss of 10% of my total weight at the time I started trying to lose weight, or - 27 lbs. THis is what the Dr. demanded I lose.

241= -30 lbs
Or, if you count from my worst approximate weight, -65 lbs. I tend not to let myself count from there, because I somehow manged to loose that first 30 lbs or so without trying.

I'm mostly setting small goals for myself. The next step is 240, just because it's round and then 5 lbs at a time from there. Another 10% is somewhere around 217, So i guess that's the next MAJOR goal, though even hitting 220 would be amazing.

Yesterday was miserable. The bug moved into my chest so that anytime I tried to take too deep a breath I had a coughing fit. And my sinuses were STILL nasty. I stayed away from people at work(especially the pregnant ones!) as much ass was possible.

Last night I slept with a package of Kleenex clutched in my hand, but I didn't seem to need to wake up to use it.

Much as I would like to be able to justify staying home today, things seem a lot better today. I have had two coughing fits in the ten minutes I've been up, but I've also been able to breathe mostly without coughing.

In other very good news, the downward weightloss trend seems to be continuing so far. Only by slightly less than half a pound since yesterday, but that is so much better than up!

Also, we brokedown and went out and got a wall charger for our phones last night, so I may be able to make it thru most of the day without my cellphone dying on me. yay!
